OPENING OF A BRANDED BREWERY IN HONOR OF THE 65TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LEGENDARY BRAND "KARAGANDINSKOE"

July 5, 2023 Karaganda, Kazakhstan. One of the first and largest investors in the sector of consumer goods "Efes Kazakhstan" on the eve of the Capital Day celebrated the 65th anniversary of the legendary brand "Karagandinskoe" as part of a 26-year successful business in Kazakhstan. In honor of the anniversary event, on the basis of the Karaganda plant of JSC IE "Efes Kazakhstan" the opening of a branded brewery shop took place.

A unique shop called "Karaganda Brewery" will become a new meeting place for residents and guests of the city of Karaganda. The project has been developed for a long time by designers, craftsmen and employees of JSC IE "Efes Kazakhstan", and as a result, the main idea of the shop was turned into reality.

Now the cozy space of the Brewery Shop is open to all beer fans. The interior creates an atmosphere of brewing art and reflects the warmth of the city's rich history. The shop has enough taps to enjoy the fresh beer that comes straight from the plant. Thanks to this, store visitors will be able to feel the production of a foamy drink, evaluate modern brewing technologies and study the operation of the equipment. For the design of the shop, local muralists were involved, who decorated the walls with symbols of the city and its legendary beer - a golden eagle with a proud posture and majestically spread wings.

As part of the anniversary event, a special celebratory edition of beer was brewed. "Karagandinskoe Anniversary Edition" is an is rich, hazy and refreshing lager with touch of citrus blend and unique aromatic spice of cardamom.

Today we are celebrating a significant event - the 65th anniversary of the legendary brand "Karagandinskoe" and the opening of our shop, sharing the joy with partners and media representatives. Let this significant date be another step forward on the path of exploring new horizons, improving the culture of the city of Karaganda, and fulfilling all plans and projects conceived.”

In honor of the significant date, a festive evening was organized for media representatives, partners of the company and employees of the plant. A big surprise for the guests was the performance of a young musical group and a well-known headliner - the recognized «Urker» group.

The brewery in Karaganda was founded in 1958. In 1997, the plant became part of the Anadolu Group, becoming the company's first investment outside of Turkey. In 2003, the second brewery was built in the village of Bereke, Almaty region. Today JSC IE "Efes Kazakhstan" is the only large brewing company that has 2 plants that produce about 300 million liters of beer per year and employ more than 1,000 people.

As one of the largest investors in the real sector of Kazakhstan, since 2014 JSC IE "Efes Kazakhstan" has been a member of the Council of Foreign Investors under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Over the past years, the company has been transferring more than 20 billion tenge of taxes and other payments to the country's budget annually. Over 20 years (1998-2021), the company invested more than $300 million. In general, in the period 2000-2022. JSC IP "Efes Kazakhstan" paid more than 200 billion tenge of taxes and other obligatory payments, thereby being one of the largest taxpayers in the alcohol industry and in the city of Karaganda. The Karaganda plant is one of the five largest taxpayers in the Karaganda region.

In 2015, JSC IE "Efes Kazakhstan" in Karaganda became the winner according to the results of the "best taxpayer" campaign, held at the initiative of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In April of this year, the company became the winner of the Headhunter & Lerna Corp. Digitalization of Corporate Education award. And in 2021, the Akimat of Karaganda, JSC IE "Efes Kazakhstan" was the winner in the nomination "Patron of the Year", 2021 for active support and assistance to seriously ill patients during a pandemic.
